Windy Acres fall wedding- Pike Lake Saskatchewan

Victoria & Matt's wedding happened on pretty much the warmest day in September that I can remember. But let me tell you, it was STUNNING!!! The leaves were prefect, the weather +32 and we took photos at one of my favorite locations to shoot. I am so grateful that a really great photographer friend of mine referred them to me. Plus she was in the bridal party so I got to take photos with her and catch up.

Victoria and Matt's day started out with a first look. If you don't know what a first look is, it's when you see your bride/groom before the ceremony and take all your photos before the ceremony. Matt was so excited and of course nervous to see his beautiful bride. But once she tapped him on the shoulder, he turned around and embraced her. I love capturing first looks as its just the two of you, and you don't have to hold back those happy tears. The bridal party came to join in the fun shortly after. Since their ceremony was going to be held in the pike lake area, I suggested we take photos at Popular Bluffs. It's an amazing natural grassland area with beach and trees. The bridal party was up for playing a few games after taking some really nice photos, but I didn't keep them too long. It was really hot that day so I made sure everyone took lots of water and snack breaks.

I have driven past Windy Acres hundreds of times on the way out to Pike Lake, but this is the first time I would shoot a wedding there. What a cool location!! They have this lovely area that is enclosed by hedges which is perfect for your ceremony. Very private and intimate. Just before the ceremony I got the family all together and captured some really fun family photos. It also gave a chance to sneak into their venue to take some photos of their décor in the barn.

Their ceremony was wonderful, they choose to have it a little later in the day which was great as it had started to cool off a bit. They said their I Do's in front a arch in the hedged courtyard. There were a lot of teary eyes as they said their vows to each other. Following the ceremony they had a little receiving line thanking all their guests for joining them before they headed over the barn for their reception.
