Homestead weddings are incredible and if I had one word for this wedding.. its STUNNING! LOL I'm not sorry at all for oversharing images from this wedding. Dahlen and his groomsmen got ready at the farm in the morning, while she got ready at their home in town. The boys were so much fun to capture in the morning, joking, laughing and having a great time. Its was the first wedding that felt "normal". The fellows got dressed up, enjoyed a beer together and got ready for the ceremony. The girls were so relaxed and cozy in their matching robes. Ashleigh's details were STUNNING... Her dress was a jaw dropper. Ashleigh loves her dress so much she just wants to sit in it everyday in bed while enjoying a glass of wine, I don't blame her I would want to wear it everyday too. After getting into the dress she had a first look with her dad, and of course there were beautiful tears. She slipped on her cowboy boots and we headed out to the ceremony location.
Ashleigh & Dahlen held there ceremony at Ashleigh's almost 90 year old family farm out by Davidson Sk. They spent weeks getting it ready and it looked amazing. When we pulled up I was so worried it was going to start raining, the forecast showed on and off rain for most of the day. However the sun came out just in time for the ceremony and stayed out for family photos and most of the wedding portraits. When Ashleigh walked down the isle lined with haybales, Dahlen lit up with a huge smile. l I love how the old farm house was in the background as she walked down with her dad.
The ceremony was beautiful. They had beautiful crafted vows and Dahlen had everyone in tears with a promise he wrote to Hailee, Ashleigh's daughter. There wasn't a dry eye to be seen. These two love each other so much, the way they look at each other shows it.
After the ceremony we snuck away to the barn to take some really fun photos with the bridal party and some gorgeous images of just the two of them. Big red barns are one of my favorite backdrops for wedding photos, its classic Saskatchewan and its their families.
We were eventually met with a little bit of rain, but that's totally ok, they grabbed an umbrella and jumped into the canola field. Dahlen's fun personally really showed as he photobombed a couple of portraits of his beautiful wife. I'm a huge sucker for wheat fields so you know I just had to have them dip kiss in the middle of one... STUNNING!
We headed to the other farm for their reception which was full of laughs, a giant game of janga and a tasty meal. And of course we snuck out to take some amazing photos at sunset in the canola field. The light that night was incredible, I wish we could take all wedding photos at that time of the day. They jumped through the field, cuddled up nice and close and went for a bare foot walk. Seriously love when couples trust my crazy ideas and they end up with incredible out of the box photos. We headed back, they cut the cake and danced the evening away with those they love most.
