There is nothing quite like a summer wedding in the Rockies. As a Canmore wedding photographer, I get to see a lot of beautiful days, but Ariana and Brent’s celebration was truly one for the books.

Ariana was actually referred to me by her sister, Allyson, a talented local makeup artist I’ve had the pleasure of working with many times. When Ariana reached out and told me she wanted me to capture her big day, I was over the moon! Knowing the family already made the day feel like catching up with old friends.

A First Look to Remember

The day began with one of the most emotional father-daughter first looks I have ever witnessed. There wasn't a dry eye in the room! From there, we headed to the Canmore Ranch for a stunning outdoor ceremony. With the jagged peaks of the mountains as their backdrop and clear blue skies above, Ariana and Brent said their "I dos" in front of their favorite people.

Mountain Portraits & A Special Guest

After the ceremony, we were joined by a very important VIP: their dog, Dino! Including your pup in your Canmore wedding photos is always a win in my book. We spent the afternoon exploring some of my favorite "hidden gem" locations around town. The couple was so relaxed, making it easy to capture those fun, candid, and stunning portraits that truly reflect their connection.

Inspired by Serbia: The Reception at Cornerstone Theatre

The celebration moved to Cornerstone Theatre, a venue Ariana has loved since her days working bridal expo with her sister. The decor was inspired by a romantic restaurant in Serbia where the couple got engaged—full of vibrant colors and lush florals that brought a touch of European charm to the mountains.

Between the meat carving station (the duck was a hit!) and the signature cocktails—a Spicy Pineapple Marg for Brent and an Amaretto Sour for Ariana—the night was a perfect reflection of their style.
