From Snowboarding to “I Do”-Cochrane Ranchehouse- Lovestruck Portraits

When two souls are destined to meet, sometimes it happens in the most modern of ways—online! For this couple, their love story began with a simple message that led to nearly five years of shared adventures, laughter, and an undeniable bond. From fun-filled date nights of bowling and snowboarding to the quiet joy of being each other’s best friend, their love has grown into something truly beautiful.

From Snowboarding to “I Do”

For these two, adventure was always at the heart of their relationship. Their favorite dates weren’t tied to fancy restaurants or lavish outings—they loved doing fun things together. Whether it was hitting the bowling alley or spending a day carving through fresh powder on the slopes, every experience was another chapter in their shared story.

So, it only made sense that their engagement would reflect that sense of adventure. On a big snowboarding trip to Fernie, the day before her birthday, he planned a moment that was as breathtaking as the snowy mountains surrounding them. On the balcony of the iconic Lost Boys Café, with a view that seemed to stretch forever, he popped the question. Of course, the answer was a resounding "yes!"

A Wedding Day Filled with Love

Fast forward to their wedding day—a celebration of their love and all the growth they’ve shared. The morning of the wedding was filled with excitement and a touch of impatience. She couldn’t wait to see her soon-to-be husband. Being apart from him on such a monumental morning felt strange, and all she wanted was to get to the ceremony so they could finally be together.

The ceremony itself was unforgettable, especially the moment her husband teared up ever so slightly during her vows. That tender moment, filled with raw emotion and love, was one of her favorite parts of the day. Another highlight? Taking photos with their closest friends after the ceremony. Those snapshots weren’t just pictures—they were cherished memories of a day filled with joy, laughter, and celebration.

The Honeymoon of a Lifetime

After the wedding, the adventure continued. A week after saying "I do," the couple packed their gear and headed to Switzerland for a snowboarding honeymoon. Spending a week carving through the Swiss Alps was the perfect way to kick off their married life. It was a reflection of their shared love for adventure and their ability to turn any moment into a special one.

Lessons for Future Brides

Looking back, this bride has some heartfelt advice for brides-to-be:

  • Keep it simple. At the end of the day, it’s not about the elaborate decorations or expensive details. What people will remember most is the joy and love radiating from you and your partner.

  • Stay present. The day goes by so fast, and it’s easy to miss the little moments. Take time to soak it all in and create memories you’ll cherish forever.

  • Stay true to yourselves. Don’t let anyone else dictate your day. This is your moment, and it should reflect what’s most important to you and your partner.

  • Spend time together. While it’s tempting to visit with friends and family throughout the day, don’t forget to carve out moments just for the two of you. After all, it’s a celebration of your love!

A Love Built on Growth and Friendship

What makes this couple’s love story so special is how they’ve grown together over the years. They’ve helped each other become the best versions of themselves, supporting one another every step of the way. Their relationship isn’t just built on love—it’s built on friendship, trust, and a deep understanding of one another.

Their wedding day was a reflection of everything they’ve shared, and their future is as bright as the snowy slopes where their love story began.
