Brodie and I met in 2009 when I was working at Camp Easter Seal at Manitou Beach. My work friends and I would go to the beach bar weekly in town and one night Brodie was there with his friends. He immediately won me over with his gentle eyes and ridiculous sense of humor.
After 5 years apart we got back together in 2014 and have spent the last 8 years inseparable. Brodie is one of the most genuinely kind hearted and friendly people out there. He would give anyone in need the shirt off his back without a second though.
He says his favourite part about me is how loving and caring of a mom and partner I am!
Now a days our date night is a movie at home and ordering in sushi. Before covid we really loved to go out and enjoy live music. Nothing beats seeing some of your favourite artists in there element on stage or discovering someone new to add to the Playlist! I have never in my entire life met someone who could quote as many movies or song lyrics as I can. Not often a day goes by that we don't quote atleast one movie or break out in song in our regular routines
One evening, Brodie took me back to the spot we had our first date. It was a backroads drive (one of our other favourite past times) and he had a special "proposal" Playlist he put on. As we drove around listening to some of our favourite songs that describe our relationship so perfectly I recognized "our bridge" in the distance. When we pulled up to the bridge we got out and he started telling me what he loved most about me, our children and the life we have built together. Then like a good man, he got down on one knee in the middle of a dirt road and flashed me the bling. I obviously said yes.... woke up the baby in the back of the vehicle and started the phone calls to our friends and family!
what advice can I give fellow brides out there, Well I am still in the thick of things and I still don't feel like I have much of it figured out. Plan your "musts" right from the start and slowly make your way through the rest of your list. Atleast that is what I have done and I hope the rest all falls into place
